A 29-year-old man from Licking was arrested Friday night on charges of abusing a 3-year-old child.
Licking Police Chief Scott Lindsey said Faun E. Jackson III is charged with child abuse by Texas County Prosecutor Mike Anderson. Jackson also is held on a probation violation warrant and $300,000 bond.
Lindsey said police allege that Jackson struck the victim with an electrical cord from a curling iron resulting in injuries to the boy’s face, back and shoulders. Lindsey said Jackson admitting striking the child with the cord in an attempt to discipline him.
Jackson’s probation stems from a December 2009 forgery charge, according to court documents.
