Sales tax revenue in the City of Houston remained flat in September, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Revenue from a one-cent sales tax totaled $52,388, which was down $276 from the same period a year ago. For the first nine months of the year, $483,248 has been collected by merchants. That’s down about $8,536 from the same period a year ago.
Retailers also collect two, quarter-cent sales taxes for roads, sidewalks and utility work. Each totaled about $12,482. Both have generated about $116,293 each. That’s down about $2,100 from the same period a year ago.
An eighth-cent sales tax used for debt repayment on a fire truck totaled $6,241.
