Salvation Army efforts are gearing up in Texas County, where the annual drive has a $15,000 goal when it begins Nov. 26.

Funds generated are used for the emergency needs of residents in the area.

An organizer said the Salvation Army Service Unit of Texas County has worked all year to make sure county residents do not face a crisis or emergency alone. The Salvation Army provides lodging, transportation, clothing, groceries, healthcare and other aid.

Persons interested in ringing a bell at a red kettle can call Melanie Self at the Texas County Food Pantry by calling 417-967-4484.
