Daniel “Danny” Eugene Breedlove, 53, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, following a long illness.
He was born May 19, 1957, in Waynesville, son of John Daniel and Mildred Huskey Breedlove.
He was born with Down Syndrome. He loved family, friends and his caregivers, Delores Bowlin of Houston and Judy Boxx of Salem.
He won numerous medals and ribbons as a Special Olympics participant. He enjoyed country music, wrestling, traveling and the holidays. He enjoyed twirling sparklers and throwing poppers with his cousins of the Fourth of July.
Schooled in Shreveport, La., he worked for Bell Telephone Company assembling phones. After moving to Missouri with his mother, he worked for the sheltered workshop in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half sister, Lindell Breedlove Graham.
Survivors include a half brother, Tom Breedlove; four half sisters, Sue Birdwell, Virginia Viola, Betty Braddock and Shirley Klorik, all of Louisiana; a special aunt, Leola Allen of Louisiana; and a host of cousins.
Services were Monday, Nov. 1, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Scott Breedlove and Roger Flint officiating. Burial was in Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Compassus of Mountain Grove.
