Sales tax revenue from collections in Houston stood nearly unchanged in October from a year ago, according to a Missouri Department of Revenue report.
Revenue from a one-cent sales tax totaled $41,325, an increase of $463 from a year ago. For the year, $524,573 has been collected by merchants. That’s down $8,073 from a year ago.
The tally from two quarter-cent sales taxes totaled about $10,100 each, up about $187. For the year, the total on each is about $126,360. That’s down about $1,900 on each.
An eighth-cent sales tax whose proceeds are used for repayment of fire truck debt totaled $5,033.
