James T. Eaton

James T. Eaton, 73, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 4, 1936, in Crane, son of Raymond and Marie Bennett Eaton.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Bucyrus Baptist Church. He attended Conway High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball and softball. He graduated in 1954.

After years of working for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet, Ill., he returned to Missouri. He was active with the Lions Club, drove school busses and maintained lawns for local businesses and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepfather, Carl Baker.

Survivors include his wife, Sonja of Houston; three sons; a daughter; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Peggy Fye of California; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 6, at Bucyrus Baptist Church with Pastors Ed Edington and Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
