Kayla Kelley was one of four Houston softball players to receive all-conference honors.

Houston softball players Kayla Kelley and Taylor Franklin led four Lady Tigers on the all-conference team.

Kelley, a first baseman, and Franklin, a shortstop, were first team selections. They were joined by Karmen Floyd, a second team pick, and Maddie Vandiver, who was named honorable mention.

All four were previously named to the all-district team.

Kelley led the team with a .397 batting average in her first season with the team. She led Houston with 18 RBIs and tied for the team lead with 22 runs.

Franklin, one of six freshman starters, batted .381 with 22 runs and a team-high 22 stolen bases.

Floyd, a junior, started all 23 of the Lady Tigers’ varsity games and went 11-12. As the team’s cleanup batter, she hit .362 with two home runs, seven doubls, 14 RBIs and 14 runs.

Vandiver, a freshman second baseman, batted .317 at the top of the Houston lineup. She scored 12 runs, had 11 RBIs and stole nine bases
