Leo Don Casebeer, 86, of Willow Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 4, 1924, in Texas County, son of Tom and Bessie Rickard Casebeer. He and Meda Jane Daniels were married Dec. 1, 1950.
His German ancestors arrived at the port of Philadelphia in 1724, and his granddad, Calvin Casebeer, arrived in Texas County in 1885. He served in the military and fought on the Battleship New Jersey during World War II.
Following the war, he settled in Placerville, Calif., and was employed 32 years at PG&E. He and his family returned to Howell County in 1979 and raised cattle on 120 acres before he retired at age 82.
Survivors include his wife, Meda of the home; a son, Shannon of Willow Springs; a daughter, Dawn Nelson of Willow Springs; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Ned and Carl Casebeer of Houston.
A private memorial service will be held at the family home.
