Sarah Kelley scored six points to lead the Houston seventh grade girls’ basketball team past Licking 19-15 Monday night.

Shelbi Cremer and Krista Scott had four points apiece for Houston, which improved to 5-1. Chloe Morning and Mikayla Koch scored two points apiece.

“We got in a little foul trouble in the second half and didn’t always play very smart,” Lady Tigers coach John Jordan said. “But give the kids credit. They found a way to win.”

EIGHTH GRADE: Kylee Elmore had a team-best 12 points in the Lady Tigers’ 40-21 loss Monday at Licking.

Olivia Woosley added five points. Walker and Nora Dixon each had two points.

“They are probably the best eighth grade team we will see this year,” Jordan said. “They are big and play physical. We just couldn’t match it.”
