The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off its annual membership drive with an announcement that it was reducing its membership fees structure.
The chamber, the primary organization for promotion of business in the community since 1906, has set a Dec. 10 deadline for payment of dues. The organization has seen success in increasing its membership. Director Sharon Horbyk said there are 187 members, up 31 since she assumed her position earlier this year.
Horbyk said increased prosperity for current members and support of new businesses will be the chamber’s top priority in 2011. Horbyk said the chamber’s board of directors will also work on a long-range plan for improvement at the chamber’s fairgrounds on North U.S. 63, as well as plans to promote Houston, its businesses and its people.
Persons interested in joining the chamber can call 417-967-2220 or e-mail email@example.com.
