Debra Faye Summers Terrill, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Mountain View, daughter of Tinker and Nora Mae Summers. She and Gary Steven Terrill were married in 1987. He died in December 1999.
She graduated from Summersville R-II School and worked many years at Angelica Uniform Factory until her health forced her to quit work. She was a seamstress and made many of her own patterns and original designs.
She served with the Summersville Chamber of Commerce, city council and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7222. She was instrumental in creating the Summersville Veterans Park Square.
She was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes and when her kidneys began failing, she started dialysis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Pauline Stewart; and two brothers, Denny Summers and Everett Summers.
Survivors include two daughters, Chris Summers of Mountain View and Ryna Broce of Hartshorn; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Jones and Regina Carter of Fort Worth, Texas; a twin sister, Kay Howell of Hartshorn; two brothers, Jerry Summers of Ozark and Charles Summers of Summersville; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Services were Friday, Dec. 24, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Atchison officiating. Burial was in Black Pond Cemetery near Summersville.
