A Houston man was charged with DWI after his vehicle landed in a highway ditch, Houston police said.
Officers arrested Jason W. Schulte, 36, of 643 Plainview Drive, with DWI on Dec. 3. Police said they spotted Schulte’s Mustang off the roadway and resting in a water-filled ditch in front of the U.S. Forest Service. According to a police report, he measured more than twice the legal limit for intoxication. He was not injured, police said.
In other matters, police:
-Charged Cynthia M. Fitzcharles, 41, of Cabool, with shoplifting Dec. 4 at Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter. Items totaling $36 were taken, police said.
-Cited Colleen S. Hill, 28, of 116 Park St., with failing to register a motor vehicle – expired and failed to stop at a posted stop sign on Dec. 4.
-Charged Viola M. Nelson, 65, of Raymondville, with failing to register a motor vehicle – expired on Dec. 4.
-Charged Elias G.W. Durbin, 16, of 603 Phelps St., with failing to properly affix a front license plate to a vehicle on Dec. 3.
-Cited Christopher M. Conway, 17, of 316 Oak St., with failing to register a motor vehicle – expired and failure to exhibit an insurance identification card on Dec. 3.
-Charged Keith Masters, 24, 5413 U.S. 63, with disturbance of private peace with his sister on Dec. 2. Witnesses gave varied reports on what occurred.
-Were called Dec. 3 to an ATM belonging to The Bank of Houston at Murphy’s USA. Vandalism was reported, and the machine’s security was not compromised. Police are continuing their investigation.
