Military veteran

Martin J. Crampo, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his home in Plato.

He was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of Martin and Julia Crampo.

He grew up in Belle Vernon, Pa., and graduated from Rostraver High School in 1962. He joined the Navy and served on the USS Forrestal from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War. He then joined the family business, Dog House and Crampo’s restaurant, before driving a truck for 22 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was a member of Roby Baptist Church. He had recently received Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized Dec. 24, 2010.

Survivors include his wife, Twilla D. Crampo of Plato; eight children, Dana Fartini, Juliane Heitger, Jewlia Crampo and Krystle Crampo of Plato, Shawn Martin Crampo of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., Tony Andersen and Leticia Andersen of Minneapolis, Minn., and Miya Boyles of Shubuta, Miss.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Marcinus Crampo of Charleroi, Pa.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Roby Baptist Church. Services are Monday, Jan. 3, at Roby Baptist Church with Pastor Brock Davis officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Fort Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
