Texas County sales tax revenue finished down during the latest monthly distribution.

Cash registers were ringing in Texas County, where sales tax revenue jumped about 10 percent from the same period a year ago, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Revenue from three, half-cent sales taxes generated about $89,000 each. That’s up more than $8,200 each from the same period a year ago.

For the year, each has netted about $853,000, which is up about 2 percent from the same period a year ago.

Those funds go toward operation of county government, as well as debt repayment on the Texas County Justice Center.
