Sales tax revenue dropped in Houston during the latest reporting period.

Sales tax revenue collected by merchants in Houston dropped in November, according to a report by the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Collections fell about 4 percent for a one-cent sales tax. The tally was $58,289, which was down about $2,620 from the same period a year ago. For the year, $582,863 has been generated. That’s down about $10,692 from the same period a year ago.

Two quarter-cent sales taxes each totaled about $14,520, which was down about $250 on each. Revenue from an eight-cent sales tax that is used for debt repayment on a fire truck totaled $7,260.
