Texas County merchants collected more sales tax in 2010 than the previous year, according to a tally by the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Retailers collect three, half-cent sales taxes in the county. Each totaled about $925,000. That’s up about $9,100 on each for the year.
Revenue is used for general operations and debt repayment on the county justice center.
December’s report shows a decrease in revenue. Each totaled about $71,200. That’s down about $5,100 on each.
