The Houston Lady Tigers’ interior players combined for 39 points to lead a 72-40 home romp Thursday of Dora.

Erica Keeney scored 14 points, Alexa Ichord added 13 and Elizabeth Hayes had 12 to pace the Lady Tigers. Guard Emily Reese scored a career-best 10 points.

Houston (2-8) led by seven at the half before outscoring Dora 27-8 in the third quarter to take a commanding 26-point advantage.

On Saturday, Keeney scored 20 points in the Lady Tigers’ 69-48 loss to Dixon inside Hiett Gymnasium.

Hayes scored 10 points and Ichord had eight for Houston, which trailed 25-24 at halftime. Dixon outscored the Lady Tigers 24-11 in the third and 20-13 in the fourth to pull away.

On Monday, Keeney had 10 points in Houston’s 37-28 loss at Salem.

Hayes scored seven points and Tory Burgess had six.

Salem’s 13-4 advantage in the first quarter was the difference. The teams scored identical points –five, seven and 12 — in the remaining three quarters.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Alissa Bowlin and Sydney Cremer scored six points apiece in a 25-16 victory Thursday against Dora inside Hiett Gymnasium.

Kayla Herndon had five points for Houston, which outscored Dora 17-7 in the opening quarter.

On Saturday, the Lady Tigers couldn’t hang onto an early lead and lost 27-21 to Dixon.

Sierra Weaver led Houston with eight points. Kaylea Preheim had five.

The Lady Tigers led 13-11 after the opening quarter and were ahead by a point with just over two minutes remaining.

On Monday, Bowlin’s five points led the Lady Tigers in a 22-10 loss at Salem.

Houston managed just two field goals — both by Bowlin — and was 6-for-14 at the foul line.

Five different players had one point each.

All three JV games this past week were two quarters apiece.
