The Houston Middle School boys’ basketball teams swept Mountain Grove last Tuesday in their season finales.

The eighth grade rallied for a 35-32 victory and the seventh grade won 37-31. Both teams finished with 10-4 records under coach Willy Walker.

Kolby Walker scored 14 points and Devin Garrett had 13 for the eighth grade, which trailed 13-7 early before holding the Panthers scoreless in the second quarter. The team was 8-for-12 at the foul line in the fourth quarter.

“We won some games that we didn’t win last year,” Willy Walker said. “It shows that we are improving and that the kids played hard.”

Stetson Welch scored 12 points in the seventh grade’s six-point victory.

The seventh grade was also 8-for-12 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
