Groups are sought to undertake a summer feeding program.

Officials seek groups for feeding students during summer

Missouri health officials are looking for help to feed thousands of children during the summer when schools are out of session.

The state’s summer food program reimburses groups for serving meals to children using money from the federal government. Organizations that are eligible to serve food include schools, camps, private nonprofit groups and government agencies. Many schools didn’t have summer school last year – such as Houston – so feeding wasn’t available.

The U.S. Department of Health and Senior Services is accepting applications to participate from March 1 through May 15.
