Two Summersville residents were hurt Tuesday night in a Highway 17 crash.

Two Summersville residents were injured Tuesday night when their truck lost control on a curve and caused it to skid off Highway 17, overturn and strike a fence, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Cpl. C.A. Hogue said Kenneth R. Brooks, 63, was the driver of the 1996 Chevrolet truck about 10 miles north of Mountain View.

Two passengers, Rhonda J. Tate, 44, and Matthew A. Tennant, 36, sustained moderate injuries and were taken by private vehicle to St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View.

No one was wearing a seat belt, Hogue said. The vehicle was totaled.
