A winter storm slammed the region early Tuesday, dismissing area schools and postponing basketball games.
With threatening weather in the forecast — predicted to be “blizzard” conditions in the central and western parts of the state — the Lady Tigers’ home game Monday against Thayer was canceled. Athletic director Brent Kell said the schools agreed it wasn’t worth the risk of traveling with the threat of inclement weather. It was postponed early in the afternoon and rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 18, inside Hiett Gymnasium.
Thursday’s home game against Liberty was postponed shortly after noon Wednesday. Kell hoped to announce a rescheduled date soon.
The Tigers’ road game Tuesday at Salem was also postponed due to the weather. It was moved to Feb. 10.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to return to action today (Thursday) as they host Liberty. The Tigers play Friday at Mountain Grove.
