Beulah Marie McClellan Bartlett, 86, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Cox Health South in Springfield.
She was born June 14, 1924, in Cumberland County, Ill., daughter of Dewey and Ethel Allenbaugh McClellan. She and Leland “Paul” Bartlett were married Sept. 9, 1945, in Montrose, Ill.
She graduated in 1942 from Greenup High School in Greenup, Ill. She worked at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Greenup, Ill., and with her husband owned and operated a service and filling station in Montrose, Ill. She moved to Willow Springs in 1949 and worked at Conway-Winters Shoe factory and Willow Health Care.
She was a charter member of Pine Creek Extension Club and volunteered at MUNCH. She attended Solid Rock Baptist Church in Willow Springs and received Christ as her savior at “The Bluff Hole” at Pine Creek during a revival at the church.
She loved her family, friends, knitting, crocheting, tatting, reading and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and other birds who visited her feeders.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; two sisters, Audrey Mae and Wilma Lee McClellan; and a son, Dean Bartlett.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Bartlett of Houston; a daughter, Deb Power of Effingham, Ill.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday, March 18, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Anderson officiating.
