The local church first met in Houston on June 30, 2001 in a house that was part of the Lilly farm, which is now the site of a Wal-Mart Supercenter. It began with about eight-12 people who rented the home.

The group later moved to Century 21’s conference room. In August 2003, it became evident that larger quarters were needed. Members rented the BC Computer building on East Highway 17 from Paul and Alaine Ashton. Worship began there in September 2003.

In January 2008, the church purchased property on Airport Road, where construction is under way.

A major focus of the Houston church has been outreach and evangelism. In spring 2002, members became handing out Christian books and literature at local events. It has done so every year since.
