Sales tax revenue collected by Texas County merchants dropped sharply during the latest monthly reporting period, the Missouri Department of Revenue reported.
The tally was more than $65,300 from each of the three half-cent sale taxes collected by retailers. That’s down about 20 percent – or about $17,000 each – from the same period a year ago.
For the year, sales tax revenue totals about $146,000 on each of three sales taxes. That’s down about $8,500 from the same period a year ago.
