James “Whiz” Alan Stanton, 40, died Friday, March 18, 2011, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1970, in Houston, son of Richard Wildhaber and Shirley Stice.
He attended Souls Harbor Family Worship and received Christ as his Savior. He was employed at Miller’s Grill for several years.
James enjoyed his truck, playing video games with his son, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by several family members.
Survivors include a son, Trevor of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his parents, Danny and Shirley Stice of Success; his father, Richard of Raymondville; three brothers, Robert Hayes of Aurora, Willie Hayes of Branson and Joe Stice of Houston; a sister, Tressie Neugebauer of Houston; three nieces; two nephews; two great-nephews; and a great-niece.
A celebration of life was Monday, March 21, at Souls Harbor Family Worship with Pastor Cordie Wimberley officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
