Mary “Betty” Elizabeth Shaw, 82, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Mountain View Health Care.
She was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Arroll, daughter of Robert Ivan and Lena Grace Sterns Taber. She and Chester “Chet” Shaw were married Aug. 14, 1946. He died Sept. 25, 1997.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Summersville. She worked many years at the Summersville Angelica Uniform Factory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet; her parents; three sisters, Margaret Hurt, Francis Maupin and Dorothy Grace Taber; a brother, Jon Taber; two infant siblings, Myrtle and Clyde Taber; and a grandson, Nathan Shaw McVicker.
Survivors include five daughters, Wanda Cooley and Debbie McVicker of Mountain View, Donna Franklin of Sedalia, Cheta Currence of Ozark and Alesia Talley of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were Monday, March 28, at Faith Baptist Church in Summersville with the Rev. Don Currence officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
