The Houston baseball team will warm up for the 2011 season with the annual 50-inning game Saturday.
The scrimmage, which begins around 9 a.m., offers the public the chance to get an initial glance at this year’s team. There are plenty of new faces with eight freshman on the 18-player roster.
The team is seeking financial assistance to raise money for a new pitching machine and offset costs from a summer camp in Mississippi. Players will be approaching area businesses. Donations may also be sent to the Diamond Club, 313 Quaker Street, Houston. Questions can be directed to coach Brent Hall at 260-2135.
Refreshments will be available at Saturday’s scrimmage. Fans are encouraged to attend.
