A Bucyrus man is charged with nine offenses following his arrest Monday night on West Highway 17.

A Bucyrus man is charged with nine offenses following his arrest Monday night west of Houston.

Cody M. Bressie, 23, who attempted to flee on foot, was taken into custody by the Houston Police Department. Authorities said Bressie ran his truck through a fence before attempting to elude officers. In driving rain, the fence was repaired to prevent cattle from running onto the highway.

Bressie was charged by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with: Misdemeanor DWI, resisting arrest by fleeing, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, driving while suspended, supplying alcohol to a minor, misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident, failure to register a motor vehicle, wearing no seat belt and a Texas County misdemeanor warrant charging him with minor in possession of alcohol.

A passenger, Minaya N. Maddox, 18, of Houston, was arrested by the patrol on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and wearing no seat belt.
