The Houston tennis team blanked Liberty 9-0 at Tuesday’s home match.
Samantha Jones, Austin Bathon and Randy Barker all won their respective singles matches 8-1. Michael Shea was an 8-2 winner at No. 2 singles and Drake Bell defeated his opponent 8-5.
The lone close call was Michael Castleman’s 9-8 (6) tiebreaker victory in No. 1 singles.
The Tigers easily won two of the three doubles matches. Jones and Shea teamed up for an 8-0 shutout. Castleman and Bathon were 8-2 winners and Bell and Barker were victorious 8-6.
In JV action, Madison Bennett lost 6-0 and Patience Clinton was defeated 6-2. There were no JV doubles.
