Harold Keith Hibbs, 81, of Orange County, Calif., died Sunday, March 6, 2011, from complications following partial removal of his right lung.
He was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Yukon.
He attended grade school in Raymondville and was a 1948 Houston High School graduate. He served with the Navy during the Korean War.
After graduating from Southern Missouri University, he traveled to southern California. He worked in laboratories, inspecting rivets and fasteners used in the aeronautic industry. After studying metallurgy at Arizona State, he worked 24 years for Cherry Textron in Santa Ana, Calif. He retired in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn; two sons, Darryl and Kevin; a daughter, Kathryn; and a grandson.
The body was cremated. A small memorial service for the family is planned.
