An organization that assists disabled law enforcement officers and their families is coming to Houston.

A newly created organization that provides counseling and recreational therapy to disabled law enforcement officers who have been seriously injured in the line of duty is coming to Texas County at the end of the month.

Hunting for Heroes provides a hunting camp environment for disabled law enforcement officers and their families to help them connect with other law enforcement families who have suffered life-altering injuries.

Led by its motto “taking care of our own,” Hunting for Heroes was founded by active duty law enforcement officers from various states, local and federal organizations. The organization operates entirely with volunteers.

A camp will be filmed by the Sovereign Sportsman Network April 29 through May 1 in Houston. It will include officers from the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and Rockhill Police Department. It will air on the Pursuit Channel this summer.
