Richard Kidd, 43, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Cox South Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1967, son of Virginia Bates Rieder and Red Kidd. He and Susie Phelps were married April 17, 1993.
He grew up in Licking and attended Licking High School. He joined the Navy in 1988 and was stationed in Jacksonville, Fla.
He rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized March 15, 2009, at Calvary Apostolic Church in St. James. He faithfully read his Bible and attended church as much as possible.
He loved working with flowers and gardening. He enjoyed July 4th and doing the fireworks display for the whole family. He loved spending time for his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Susie of Licking; two brothers, Ricky of Seibert, Colo., and Tony of St. James; four sisters, Debbie Rathgeber of Rolla, Monica Perez of Chicago, Ill., Regina Kidd of St. James and Patricia Fuller of Kelleen, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Friday, April 1, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Walker officiating. Burial was in Ellis Prairie Cemetery.
