Sylvia E. Powell Rogers, 79, of Licking, died Wednesday, April 13, 2010, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 7, 1931, daughter of Clarence and Lettie Powell. She married Kenneth Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; two brothers, Thomas and Gene Powell; and three sisters, Martha Ann Cooper, Cleotus Upchurch and Fay Sieber.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Rogers of Hazelwood, Kenny Rogers of St. Peters and David Rogers of Licking; two sisters, Kay Martin of Licking and Elizabeth O’Connor of Dexter; four brothers, James Powell of Worchester, Mass., Albert Powell of Silva, Henry Powell of Bernie and Bill Powell of Fenton; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were Monday, April 18, at Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis, MO. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Local arrangements were under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
