Shelby Cremer and Kylee Elmore each had third-place finishes for the Houston Middle School track team at a recent meet in Salem.
Cremer had a leap of 25 feet, 5 1/2 inches in the triple jump. Elmore cleared 4 feet, 2 inches in the high jump.
The meet combined seventh and eighth graders. Seven schools participated.
Elmore also was fourth in the 400 meters. Bailey Earp placed fourth in the triple jump.
Malachi Sawyer was fifth in the discuss and high jump for the boys.
