Houston golfer Jacob Hall qualified for Thursday’s sectional round by shooting a 104 at last week’s district tournament.
Hall will tee off at 9:10 a.m. in Marshfield.
“Jacob has been a very steady player all year,” Tigers coach Brent Kell said. “Despite having to fight his swing and the elements as the ground was very muddy and soft from all of the rain, Jacob was able to advance to sectionals. Most of the players were 10-15 strokes over their normal scores because of the playing conditions. Jacob was no exception.”
Willow Springs won the team event by shooting 329. The Bears were followed by Mountain Grove (375), Ava (381), Liberty (384), Hollister (440), Alton (464), Seymour (466), Strafford (471), Forsyth (483), Houston (498) and Licking (no score).
Willow Springs’ Kyle Wake fired a 75 to win medalist honors.
After Hall, individual scores for Houston were Trae Knight (123), Jon Rowen (133), Ty Huff (138) and Dalton Hale (153).
