Houston police answered several calls during the last week.

The following areĀ  matters recently dealt with by Houston police.

May 17

–Rebecca D. Freeman, 29, of 9150 Splitlimb Road in Raymondville, was arrested at about 12:55 p.m. for having an active Wright County warrant charging her with passing bad checks.

An officer made the arrest after a traffic stop involving the blue 1997 Dodge van Freeman was driving northbound on U.S. 63. A routine computer check revealed the warrant.

Freeman was taken to the Texas County Jail where she was unable to post the $250 cash-only bond.

May 19

–An officer responded to a two-car accident at about 10:35 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot.

The officer reported that as Lonnie R. Cooper, of 125 Vollmer St. in Raymondville, was backing his 2001 Ford F-150 pickup out of a parking space, it struck the front passenger side door of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am being driven west through the lot by Eunice O. Cooper, of 11609 Cooper Drive in Licking.

May 21

–James W. Dickens, 19, of 725 West Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption at about 10:45 p.m.

Dickens was cited after an officer assisting with loading buses for a post-graduation event observed him swaying and having bloodshot eyes. Dickens agreed to a portable breath test. The officer drove him home.

–Roy W. Holt, 47, of 124 College St. in Licking, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license at about 7:10 p.m.

Holt was cited after the red Chevrolet truck pulling a trailer he was driving out of the Walmart parking lot onto U.S. 63 almost collided with an officer’s patrol car. The officer reported that he had to brake quickly to avoid a crash.

A routine computer check revealed that Holt’s license had been revoked.

May 24

–Dawn M. Sikes, 33, of 204 West Steffens Street in Houston, was arrested at her residence at about 7:50 p.m. for having an active Houston municipal warrant charging her with stealing under $500.

An officer made the arrest after observing Sikes standing in her front yard. Sikes was taken to the Texas County Jail and posted the $357.50 cash-only bond.

–Jerrica K. Jacobson, 21, of 8205 Northview Lane, and Nadatha S. Walker, 20, of 306 Broadway in Houston, each received citations for public peace disturbance after a fight at about 7:10 p.m.

The fight reportedly took place at the Broadway address where the two women lived. Jacobson was apparently gathering her belongings to move out when it occurred.

May 25

–A Houston man reported the theft of items from the yard of his Industrial Drive residence.

The man told an investigating officer that the stolen items included a brass sundial and a wooden mailbox that he had made in 1953 and had his name chiseled into it.

May 28

–Jennifer D. Boswell, 36, of 6728 Lundy Road in Houston, was issued a citation for failing to stop at a posted stop sign after an officer observed the blue 1999 Jeep Cherokee she was driving on Hamrick Street did not stop at the intersection with Hawthorn Street.
