The Houston tennis team began district play Monday with an 8-1 victory against Licking.
The Tigers won five of the six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches.
Michael Castleman won his No. 1 singles match 8-0. Michael Shea and Austin Bathon were 8-1 winners, Drake Bell defeated his opponent 8-2 and Patience Clinton held on 8-5.
Randy Barker lost his singles match 8-5.
In doubles play, Castleman and Bathon were 8-2 winners. Shea and Clinton teamed up for an 8-6 win and Bell and Barker were victorious 8-4.
