Bernadene Stark

Bernadene Stark, 79, died Friday, June 17, 2011, in Licking.

She was born March 7, 1932, in Shell Lake, Wisc., daughter of John and Bertha Rockaway Graves. She and Virgil Brenizer were married in April 1949. She and Vincent Stark were married Aug. 7, 1995.

She spent her early years near Shell Lake, Wisc., before her family moved to a farm near Grantsburg, Wisc. She attended elementary school in Alpha, Wisc., and high school in Grantsburg, Wisc.

She 
was baptized in 1933 into the Methodist faith and confirmed in 1946.

She and her husband
 owned and operated a mink ranch. She worked in hospitals, nursing homes and motels from 1970-’91.

She moved to Riceville, Iowa, in 1993 and the following year moved to Bellevue, Iowa. She and her second husband, Vincent, owned and operated Granny B’s Cabin. She moved to Licking in June 2005.

She enjoyed making rugs and quilts.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky; her parents; two grandchildren; and a brother, John.

Survivors include her husband, Vince; two sons Wayne Brenizer and Keith Brenizer; two stepsons, Kenneth and Donald Stark; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; a sister, Adeline Engles; and a brother, Wesley Graves.

Services were Monday, June 20, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Richardson officiating.
