Herbert Charly Bland Jr., 58, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his home in Seymour.
He was born May 26, 1953, in Yukon, son of Herbert Charly D. and Nona Hester Martin Beale Bland. He and Sandra Lee Williams were married April 12, 1970
He graduated from Houston High School in 1971. He joined the Army after he was married. He worked as a carpenter in the Carpenters Union of St. Louis Local 1839 for more than 30 years.
He loved growing a garden, working on projects and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sandra of their home; two children, Trersa Bland Hollingshead of Bourbon and Greg Bland of Seymour; four grandchildren; two brothers, Leevoy Bland of Houston and Leeo Bland of Waynesville.
Services were Tuesday, May 31, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Delbert Gayer officiating. Burial was in Allen Cemetery.
