Hubert Lee Grogan, 66, died Monday, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at HST Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was born July 9, 1944, in Pasco, Wash., son of Sherman and Lucy Mae Gordon Grogan. He and Janice Duddridge were married February 1968.
He grew up in the Willow Springs area and after marriage, moved to the Kansas City area. He served with the Army during the Vietnam War.
He later moved to Springfield and stayed there until moving in 1984 to Marionville. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a carpenter, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed cutting wood and taking his family on camping trips.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; and two brothers, Howard and Herman Grogan.
Survivors include three children, Bruce Grogan of Mt. Vernon, Curt Grogan of Tampa, Fla., and Kristie Williams of Kingdom City; and four sisters, Leona Luckey of Paola, Kan., Dorothy Sharp and Doris Dunnihoo of Willow Springs and Loreta Knoche of Harrisonville.
Services were Thursday, May 26, at Willow Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Republic.
