A big-name country artist is scheduled to appear in a benefit concert Saturday, Sept. 10, in Texas County.
Jamey Johnson, who gained notoriety in 2008 with his top-10 hit single “In Color,” will do a three-hour show to benefit Spirit Horse JC Ranch in the organization’s 72,000-square foot arena on Highway 137 in the southeastern portion of the county.
Spirit Horse JC Ranch president Jenni Spacek-Elseman said tickets will be available online Wednesday, June 29, at www.spirithorsejcranch.com.
The arena was formerly used for rodeo events and has bleacher seating for about 4,800 people. Spacek-Elseman said about 5,000 tickets will be sold for the Johnson concert, at $20 each.
“This is a big deal for Texas County, and I’m really glad Jamey has agreed to do this,” she said.
Spirit Horse JC Ranch is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering free equine therapy to disabled children. For more information, log onto the website or call 417-932-1137.
