A Plato woman was seriously injured Tuesday night in a two-car crash on Highway AW about one mile north of Evening Shade, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Terry Nelson said the wreck occurred as a southbound 2006 Toyota Matrix driven by Paula S. Ming, 60, of Bucyrus, crossed the centerline into the path of a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Desir’ee O’Neill, 27, of Plato.
The Ming car traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, skidded off the left side and struck a tree, Nelson said. The O’Neill vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
O’Niell was airlifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
