Houston’s sales tax revenue was flat during the latest monthly distribution, the Missouri Department of Revenue said.
The total from a one-cent sales tax was $61,361, which was down $19 from the same period a year ago. The tally for the year is $289,940, an increase of $1,244 from the same period in 2010.
City merchants also collect two quarter-cent sales taxes for street and sidewalk improvements, as well as utility extensions. Each totaled about $14,723, which is down $382 each from the same period a year ago.
An eighth-cent sales tax for debt retirement for a fire truck totaled $7,353.
