Harold Cecil Lassiter Sr., 61, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at his home in Houston.
He was born Nov. 13, 1949, in DeQueen, Ark., son of Dewey and Jewell Joyce Lassiter. He and Anita Byrd were married in California.
He grew up with six brothers and two sisters. The family moved to Santa Paula, Calif., when he was 14. He and his wife, Anita, moved to Houston in 1994.
He was a carpenter and woodworker. He was known for his rocking horses and motorcycles. He loved restoring furniture.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors incoude his wife, Anita of the home; a son, Harold Lassiter Jr. of Houston; a daughter, Amber Robertson of Houston; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce and Mary; four brothers, Leroy, Dewey, Bill, and Mike; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
