A Houston man faces charges following an early morning incident July 1, police say.

A Houston man faces a pair of charges following an incident Friday near Highway B and U.S. 63, police said.

Lonnie J. Williams, 30, of 18301 Cape Lane in Houston, was issued citations for DWI and failure to drive on right side of roadway after a traffic stop at on Highway B.

At about 1:30 a.m., 911 received a call requesting police respond to the Community Bank parking lot in Houston.

When two officers arrived in the area, they observed a dark green Ford Taurus without its headlights on exiting the gravel lot at a high rate of speed. An officer followed and pulled the vehicle over on Highway B near the city limits.

The driver, Williams, told an officer he had just been involved in a fight in the bank parking lot and was trying to get away from the opponent.

The officer smelled alcohol and performed field sobriety tests. Williams was taken to the Texas County Jail.
