Jeanene Gardner

Jeanene E. McKinney Gardner, 78, died Friday, July 3, 2011, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

She was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Simmons, daughter of Luther and Georgia Coats White. She and Charles McKinney were married in 1950. He died Jan. 3, 1976. She and Emmett Gardner were married in 1978. They divorced in 2000.

She was a member of UAW, serving as a steward while working for Caterpillar for 20 years. She was previously a cashier for Okfords Supermarket in Bartonville.

She was a member of Mount Hawley Community Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathryn McNew and Nadine Williams; and an infant brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Stone of Peoria, Ill.; a granddaughter; two sisters, Darlene Jackson of Hot Springs, Ark., and Marvene Kramer of Calabassas, Calif.; two brothers, Bob White of Taneyville and Bill White of Concord, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, in Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob White officiating. Burial will be in Ozark Cemetery.
