Russell Harold Lee Jr., 62, of Cabool, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his home.
He was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Cabool, son of Russell and Rosemary Backus Lee. He and Mildred Evins were married May 27, 1978.
A 1967 graduate of Cabool High School, he earned a degree in theology from Ozark Christian College in 1972. He was ordained into the ministry at Cabool Christian Church. He served as minister at Nagle Christian Church, Elk Creek and Countryside Christian Church in West Plains. He spent many summers at Rock Garden Christian Service Camp as both a camper and faculty member, earning his nickname “Pepsi.”
He taught auto collision technology for 27 years at the Ozark Mountain Technical Center in Mountain Grove. He served as VICA sponsor and held various positions within the local and state chapter of Missouri State Teachers Association.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting and restoring classic cars, bowling, and serving in many organizations, including MDA and Angel Food. He also served as the scout master of the Troop 50 Boy Scouts of Mountain Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of the home; three children, Rusty of Crane and Mindy Lee and Dusty Lee of Ozark; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, at Cabool Christian Church with Bro. Rod Farthing and Bro. Bob Martin officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
