Ryan Dale Gaston Hyde, 34, of Riesel, Texas, died Monday, July 18, 2011, in Waco, Texas.
He was born May 24, 1977, at Eglin AFB in Florida, son of Ronnie and Teri Hyde.
He grew up in the Longview area and attended Hallsville schools.
He excelled in many sports at Hallsville High School and graduated in 1995. He played two years of professional baseball for the Texas Rangers’ minor league team in Florida for two years.
He began his career in construction as a crane operator for Joyce Steel Erection. In later years, he worked for HB Zachary, where he was eventually promoted to general foreman. He built power plants from Florida to Nebraska and back to Texas.
He loved country living. He and his wife, Amber, owned a small plot of land near Waco, Texas, and raised cows, chickens and horses. He enjoyed gardening hunting and fishing and was a Texas Rangers fan. He enjoyed coaching his sons’ baseball teams in his community of Riesel, Texas, the past three years.
He knew and loved God and talked with his children about Him.
Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Teri.
Survivors include his wife, Amber; four children, Tristan, Christian, Kaitlyn and Evan; his father and stepmother, Rick Gaston; his stepmother, Laurie; his father and stepmother, Ronnie Hyde and Terri; two sisters, Cassidy Lowe and Monica Pierson; and seven brothers, Jonathan Kiraly, Adam Kiraly, Timothy “T.J.” Kiraly, Matt Gaston, Ryan Huff, Randal Hyde and Buddy Hyde.
Services were Saturday, July 23, in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home with Minister Rodney Cox officiating. Graveside services were Wednesday, July 27, in Allen Cemetery with Wesley Wallace officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
