Traffic will be studied by MoDOT on U.S. 63 at Houston.

Four-foot shoulders will be added to a nearly seven-mile stretch of Highway 17 as part of the 2012-’16 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.

The project will include an overlay and addition of the shoulders from Highway 38 to Airport Road in Houston. Work is scheduled to take place in 2013.

Other projects approved for Texas County include:

–Thin lift overlay on the westbound lanes of U.S. 60 from the Texas County line to just west of Beeler Creek.

–Resurfacing of Highway 181 from Highway AD in Texas County to Highway 76 in Dent County.

–Thin lift overlay of U.S. 63 from Indian Creek Trails to Hogan Drive.

–Rehab and reconstruction of U.S. 63 from the bridge over Brushy Creek to just north of the bridge over Indian Creek.

–Thin lift overlay of U.S. 63 from Highway 32 to Highway E.

–Resurfacing of Highway B from U.S. 63 in Houston to Highway 137 in Raymondville and all of Highway F in Houston.
