The City of Houston expects to finish its annual asphalt overlay program by mid-September, City Administrator Larry Sutton said.
Pace Construction of West Plains recently completed work off of Oak Hill Drive and Forrest Street. Lilly Avenue was completed, and the city and Pace are working on addressing a rough surface, he said.
Pace will bring in a milling machine to reduce the depth of the current surface on First Street before new asphalt is laid. The completion date is Sept. 12.
